At some time during the next two years, the majority of the world’s population will wake to discover their homes have been inundated by water. Flooded by a combination of freak tides and the unprecedented rise in global sea level.
This is not another new-age prophecy. What is about to happen is the result of an unforgiveable abuse of the planet’s ecology. For the last one hundred years or so (the industrial age) our species has been consuming and destroying the planet´s precious natural resources at a rate that not only is irreplaceable, but has left it with no choice but to fight back. And rather than put any other species at risk it has chosen this option to solve the problem. Flooding the cities.
There is only way to stop this happening. We have reduce what we each (all of us) consume. Dramatically. Until it is a fraction of what we spend out on now. We also have to stop the increase in global population (currently doubling every few years).
Because otherwise we are doomed. There are no flood contingency plans. Insurance won´t apply. And all the systems that we currently rely on to provide our food/ water/ energy/ telecommunications/ and banking will collapse, probably permanently.
The only ones that stand any chance of surviving are those who are prepared. Which in a way is what this site is also about. Learning how to live without a dependence on a cash-based economy, being self-sufficient.
Don´t leave it too late. Or pray some divine being will intercede. They won´t.
